Janet and
her husband Charley live in Jackson County, West Virginia. She is the mother of
three boys. Their yard is filled with apple trees, flowers, blackberry patches,
blueberries, grapevines, birdhouses and bird feeders. When not outside enjoying
nature, she sits at her desk and writes for children.
For over eight years Janet
wrote articles for children in Two-Lane
Livin’ Magazine. She included poems, recipes and crafts in her Fun Facts
for Kids column. Janet enjoys writing picture books and
middle grade novels, bringing her thoughts, dreams and imagination to life.
She has successfully completed a Continuing & Professional Education course entitled, Writing for Children. She participates in RhyPiBoMo (Rhyming Picture Book Month) and PiBoIdMo (Picture Book Idea Month).

Janet has had poems published and a story in Christmas Traditions, titled, The Old Santa Hat and a writing e-booklet titled, The Handy Little A to Z Book on Writing.

She shares her middle name, Frances, with her mother, grandmother, and two cousins.
She is the mother of three boys.
As a child she loved to pick blackberries with her grandmother, mother and aunts.
She grew up in rural West Virginia. She walked barefoot up dirt roads, waded in creeks and roamed the woods and hillsides. She enjoyed picking out penny candy in a little country store and swinging on grapevines.
She loves reading and writing historical fiction. She has used facts from her and her parents' and her grandparents' past and incorporated them into her stories.
She also loves reading to children at the library and to school children.
